Our second release of a small quantity of Backyard Rose was inspired by a post vintage get together after the terrific 2014 was behind our backs. At that point we decided to make a left of field, South of France style of Rose but with an Italian variety, Sangiovese. It was a long night. A trophy in Melbourne that year for our Swings Rose played into our hearts and the die was cast. We think the subtle oak and exclusive use of Sangiovese has honed the style to where we need to be for length of flavour and savoury interest at the heart of the wine.
