WINEMAKER’S NOTES

Our 2021 Chardonnay is a great example of cool climate Chardonnay; Tight acidity and excellent fruit flavours have resulted in a wine that has finesse and length of flavour. Typical of the fine-fruited style we make, it has some great potential to evolve in the bottle.

TASTING NOTES

Colour:  Medium straw.

Aroma:  Fruit aromas of citrus and nectarine, with floral notes of jasmine entwined with sweet oak characters of caramel and butterscotch. Added complexity from French oak maturation with a subtle background of vanillin.

Palate:  Light to medium bodied, with plentiful fruit. Spicy vanillan and caramel oak on the palate. Minerally lemon citrus like acidity with some lees complexity balanced with good length. Medium body with a citrusy finish.

Food matching:  Barramundi with Mango salsa.

Cellaring:  Enjoy now or cellar for three to five years.

Alcohol:  12.0 % vol.  Standard drinks:  approx 7.1
